C# Corner Annual Conference 2016: Official Recap

New Delhi (India), March 19, 2016: The C# Corner Annual Conference 2016, one of North India’s largest developer conferences, was held on March 18-19 at the Country Inn & Suites Hotel, Ghaziabad. The conference hosted 14 celebrated international speakers with 20 sessions covering cutting-edge technologies.

The conference was a three-day event with the first day focused on C# Corner authors, speakers, and MVPs. The second day (the main event) of the conference was a public event open to all C# Corner members. The third and the last day was a private breakfast and an emotional good bye.

Day One: Private MVPs-Only Event


The first-day event was a private event for the MVPs, authors, speakers and C# Corner team members.

Mahesh Chand, Founder, C# Corner, welcomed the delegates with his introductory speech followed by MVPs and other dignitaries introducing themselves to fellow attendees. Mahesh, who is also an eleven-time Microsoft MVP, technical author, and a software architect, thanked all the MVPs and the team, and shared his vision for the community in the coming years.

After that, the MVPs introduced themselves.

The session was followed by Glenn Block on “How to become a better programmer.” Glenn is a product manager for Splunk’s developer experience. In his spare time he is also the author and a maintainer of ScriptCS, an OSS tool for C# scripting. A hardcore coder professionally for almost 20 years, he cares deeply about making developers’ lives easier.

Day one ended with a panel discussion in which panelists reacted to the views and opinions on technology, career, etc. of the gathered MVPs.



C# authors, speakers, and guests were more than enthusiastic to bea part of this conference.

Day Two: C# Corner Annual Conference Public Event

Day two was a public event for the C# Corner members. About 450+ attendees and 50 MVPs enjoyed 20 sessions from 14 speakers. The Welcome Note, Keynote, and the Closing Notes were open to all, and the sessions were divided into two separate tracks, namely Development Track and Mobile/Cloud track.

The attendees kept gathering at the venue before 8 AM. This was followed by breakfast and registration. Attendees also enjoyed networking with each other just before the final showdown.

After registration, the first session was started by Microsoft MVP and speaker Brij Mishra. He covered the crucial topic of “Building next generation Web Apps with ASP.NET 5,” and initiated the first 45 minutes of the conference with quite an interesting topic for the Development Track. Brij is Microsoft MVP in ASP.NET/IIS which he was awarded five times in a row. He is passionate about learning and sharing knowledge in Microsoft technologies.

Meanwhile, parallel sessions were also going on from the Majestic Hall. The first speaker to deliver a parallel session was Nitin Pandit with the topic “Creating Web API for Mobile Apps” for the Mobile Track. His expertise in describing the topics fantastically again proved vital for the attendees. Nitin is a Senior Programmer and Microsoft.NET Consultant with over five years of vast experience in the software industry with a rich skill set of designing, integrating and implementing ORM with LINQ, WCF, MVC, etc.

Next was a session from Brijraj Singh, Sr. Tech. Evangelist, Developer Experience, Microsoft on “Running ASP .NET 5 with Docker Containers over Linux.

For the Cloud Track, Prabhjot Singh presented a session on “Internet of Your Things - With Azure.” He is the Director of Getwings Technologies. Also, he is currently mentoring various startups and offering training to industry giants as a renowned trainer.

By the time of the welcome note, the main hall was packed with over 450 attendees. And 50 MVPs joined the occasion from all over the world.



Dhananjay Kumar, C# Corner Conference Director, then gave a “Welcome Speech.” Dhananjay Kumar(DJ) is an avid developer, blogger, and speaker. He is a six-time Microsoft MVP and Developer Evangelist of Infragistics in India.

Opening the main public event, C# Corner Founder Mahesh Chand took to the stage, welcomed the MVPs, speakers and the attendees, and delivered the Keynote session.

After that, Jason Beres, Sr. VP, Developer Tools Division, Infragistics, Board of Directors INETA, put together a fully informative session with his topic, "Ignite UI and jQuery."

For the Mobile/Cloud track, Kjell Hegstad presented a fantastic informative session on “Design thinking and innovation.” Kjell was most recently Managing Director of Mobile and Emerging Technologies at ING DIRECT/Capital One where he was responsible for design and feature roadmaps for the digital platforms – desktop and mobile – servicing eight million digital customers for ING DIRECT.

Then, the session of Glenn Block started and he explained how to “Deploy Web APIs on Core CLR to Docker.” He created quite an interactive environment. Glenn is a product manager for Splunk’s developer experience. Abhishek Kant presented a session on “Creating Android App using JavaScript.” He initiated the process of Android app development using JavaScript, which is not known to many. He is certified as a Scrum Master & Microsoft Certified Application Developer. From 2004-2011, he served at Microsoft in various marketing and business positions. This was the last session before lunch.

The first session after lunch was delivered by Vinod Kumar on “Performance Tips and Tricks working with SQL Server.” Vinod Kumar has worked with SQL Server extensively since joining the industry over a decade ago. Before joining Microsoft, he was a Microsoft MVP for SQL Server for more than three years. He now works with MTC as a Technology Architect. He is a well-known speaker at all major Microsoft and third-party technical conferences. His tips while working with SQL Servers will surely prove vital for the attendees.

Renowned speaker, Microsoft Certified Trainer, Pluralsight Author, Sekhar Srinivasan presented the session on “Getting started with Xamarin Forms.” He has been training professionals for 18 years and has trained more than one lakh student on various Microsoft Technologies Platforms, including VB6.0, ASP, VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET , Silverlight , ASP.NET MVC, SharePoint 2013, etc.

After that, Dhananjay Kumar, who is a well-known speaker, put together a fully entertaining session with his topic, “Step by Step creating Single Page Application using AngularJS and ASP.NET Web API.” His fantastic style of teaching once again received an overwhelming response from the attendees. Dhananjay Kumar is an avid developer, blogger, and speaker. He is a six-time Microsoft MVP and Developer Evangelist of Infragistics in India.

Meanwhile, for the Mobile/Cloud track, Allen O'Neil presented a session on “Advanced Hybrid mobile dev with VS Taco and the Ionic Framework.” Allen’s background is in medical health software, and he is currently CTO of a data company in the UK, dealing with performant mobile apps on one end of the scale, and big data on the other. He is a chartered engineer, a Fellow of the British Computing Society, a Microsoft Insider, and a CodeProject MVP.

After that, Glenn Block presented another session during the conference with the topic, “C# - The easy way with ScriptCS.” He is an author and a maintainer of ScriptCS, an OSS tool for C# scripting, and his session really helped attendees keen to learn C# scripting.

For the Mobile/Cloud track, Gaurav Mantri described the importance of Azure with his topic, “Azure is a Swiss Army Knife.” Gaurav Mantri is Founder of Cerebrata Software, an ISV based out of India which focuses exclusively on building developer tools for the Windows Azure platform.

Then, there was a tea break of 15 minutes just before the last session and prize distribution.

The last session of this year’s conference was presented by Vinod Kumar on a topic that created an interesting environment. He presented on the topic “5 Life lessons that Cricket taught me,” and many attendees were able to relate their life with the lessons.

The time quickly rolled by and the sessions were quickly over. Finally, it was time to present the MVP Awards, and to distribute prizes and licenses to various members.

The grand prizes included a Windows Phone and a Tablet. To appreciate the attendees, other prizes added included Licenses by Infragistics, signed copies of Glenn Block’s book, etc.
