There is a major new version of VLC from
VideoLAN.
VLC
is a very popular video player. It was originally developed for desktop PCs but
has been ported to all major environments. The new version for Android is now
not a beta version.
There are more than a thousand bugs fixed in this new version. One
significant improvement for the desktop version is the ability to resume playback from where you last
viewed a video (that feature was already available for the mobile versions).
The following are the versions for the various environments:
- VLC media player 2.2.0: Download from
videolan.org/vlc
- VLC 2.4.1 for iOS: Download from
Apple’s App Store
- VLC 1.1.0 for Android: Download from
Google Play (requires Android 4.2 and up)
- VLC 1.1.0 beta for Android TV: Download from
Google Play
- VLC 1.1.0 beta for Windows Phone: Download from the
Windows Phone Store
- VLC 1.1.0 beta for Windows RT: Download from the Windows Store
