Today, Oracle’s
Larry Ellison announced that Oracle will be offering public and private cloud
services. Speaking at Oracle’s OpenWorld Conference, Larry announced that
Oracle will not be offering “Infrastructure as a service” or IaaS.
Oracle’s public
cloud services are similar to Amazon, Microsoft and other public cloud services but the
private cloud services are little different.
"We own it. We manage it. We
upgrade it. You only pay what you use."
– Larry Ellison, CEO Oracle
"If you talk to an Oracle salesperson, you can get a
better price than that. I know these guys and gals and they are always ready to
deal," he added.
Cloud services has become the new way to host applications and websites where the hosting company manages everything and customers pay for the resources they use.
