How to Turn Aero Snap On and Off in Windows 10

There are very few days left to prior to the launch Windows 10. The launching date of Windows 10 is 29th July 2015. Microsoft is providing the best Operating System for its users, so Microsoft introduced Windows 10. Windows 10 is the final version of Windows. After Windows 10 there will be no newer version of Windows introduced. If there will be a need fro changes then they will be done in Windows 10 and it will be upgraded. There are many new features introduced by Microsoft in Windows 10 that make Windows 10 very fast, reliable and user friendly. This article explains the Aero Snap features of Windows.

Aero Snap was first introduced in Windows 7. Aero Snap is a feature by which you can resize and snap open windows depending on your requirements. Using Aero Snap we can we drag a window screen to the right or left edge on the computer or laptop screen until and unless we do not get a transparent over layer. The shortcut keys for Aero Snap is the Windows + Left Arrow, Windows + Right Arrow, Windows + Up Arrow and Windows + Down Arrow. In Windows 7 and 8 we can simply drag one window to the left side of the screen and one window to the right side of the screen. Both of those windows wil automatically snap to half of the our monitor screen. But Windows 10 provides the facility that if we want to see many windows on a single screen then we can manage them using the Aero Snap feature. Now I will explain how to turn off and turn on Aero Snap in Windows 10.

Step 1

Go to the Start menu, find the setting options, then in settings go to the System Settings.

Step 2

When you click on the System Settings then there are many options available. In this list choose multitasking from there.

Step 3

Now when you click on the multitasking option, corresponding to it you have a window for Snap. In this window you will see three slider bars. Move these sliders from the left to the right for turning on the Aero Snap features.

Figure 3: Aero Snap

Here the first slider allows the system to manage windows automatically when we move them to a corner. The second slider automatically adjusts the size of the opened window when our Aero Snap features is on. The third slider allows the system to suggest companion windows when Aero Snap is on. So through this you can turn on the Aero Snap settings.

We can also turn off and turn on the Aero Snap using the Ease of Access settings. For that go to the Control Panel and open it into the icon view mode then from there choose the Ease of Access Center as in the following picture.

Figure 4: Ease of Access

When you click on the Ease of Access Center then you have a window with many options available. Here we will work with only three of them as shown in the following picture.

Figure 5: Ease of Access setting

Here, as I said, the three settings make the mouse easier to use, make the keyboard easier to use and make it easier to focus on a task. Now when you click on that link then you have a new window. In all three when you click you will see a check box with all of the links. The check box shows a message Prevent Windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen box.

If you want to turn on the Aero Snap then please uncheck the check box at all three links. And if you want to turn off the Aero Snap then please check the check box on all three links. This check box you can find under the Make it easier to manage the windows option. Like the given picture.

This type of check box you will get with all three links that I said in Figure 5. So check it to Turn off Aero Snap and uncheck it to turn on Aero Snap.

So this was the basic procedure for managing Aero Snap in Windows 10. I hope my article will be helpful for the readers to manage the Aero Snap settings in Windows 10.
