How to Completely Disable UAC in Windows 8

Introduction

In this article we are explaining how to disable the User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 8. The User Account Control setting is a security component that enable users to execute tasks as a non-Administrator and as an Administrators with the ability to switch users, log off and run as. But sometimes it becomes a hassle to keep waiting for the prompt that elevates the user rights to be able to proceed.

In previous version of Windows to disable the UAC we simply use the Control Panel. But in Windows 8 when use the Control Panel to disable the UAC it's not completely disabled. You can check that by launching a command prompt. To completely disable the UAC you have to use registry settings.

If you want to change the User Account Control settings then simply go to the search box and type "Change User Account Settings" and click settings. Select Change User Account Settings from the result window.

The User Account Control Setting window will be opened. If you want to change this setting then you can easily change it depending on your requirements. If you want to never be notified of this setting from any user then you can disable the UAC setting.

How to disable UAC setting in Windows 8

Step 1

Open a run window and type "regedit" and click on "OK".

Step 2

A Registry Editor window will be opened.

Step 3

In the registry window go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System".

Step 4

In this step double-click on "EnableUA" from the right tab.

Step 5

A new window will be opened. Type "0" in the value data and click on "OK". Exit from the registry window.

Step 6

Now restart your system. After it restarts, open User Account Control and try to change its. It will not be changed. If we want to enable the UAC setting then simply type "1" in the value data in the Registry window.
