How to Enable Aero Lite Theme in Windows 8

Introduction

In this article we are explaining how to enable the hidden Aero Lite theme in Windows 8. The Aero lite theme is a clean and simple theme created for low-end computers which doesn't have compatible hardware to support the main Aero theme of Windows 8. The Aero Lite theme was introduced in Windows 8 testing to replace the Windows basic theme present in Windows 7 and Vista. Aero lite doesn't provide Aero glass and other types of effects such as reflection, blur etc. If a computer doesn't have compatible hardware then the Aero lite theme is applied by default in Windows 8.

In Windows 8 if your computer contains compatible hardware and graphics card then the main Aero theme is applied automatically and the Aero Lite theme is not available in the Desktop personalization window. We use the Aero Lite theme in Windows 8 mainly to disable task bar transparency because there is not an option to disable Taskbar transparency and many people use the Aero Lite theme instead of the Aero Glass theme to save battery time.
