drag and drop outlook attachments

Hi friends I need to drag and drop of outlook attachments to windows forms. After dragging i need to save the attachment as a file in some directory. I am not able to get the format of the object being dragged. (Using e.Data.GetDataPresent()). Can anyone help me in this?

Hi I assume you are doing this programatically rather than with a real mouse? It could depend on the version of Outlook you are using. A MailItem should have an Attachments collection. I seem to recall each entry in Attachments should have the original name and some binary data. Just use the original name when writing the binary data out to disk. Then once the attachment is out on disk you could bring it back into your Form - assuming your control supports working with that file type (backwards I know but should have the same result). If you need to work with a MailItem other than the currently open one and it's not in a personal folder I think you have to query the Exchange datastore...for 2000 this was fairly straight forward. I think for 2002 onwards it uses Active Directories. Cheers
