Failed to find or load the registered .Net Framework Data Provider

Question

I opened a new Windows Form project added a grid control and the attempted to add a project data source. I get a dialog box with the caption Wizard Form and the message: An unexpected error has occurred. Error Message: Failed to find or load the registered .Net Framework Data Provider. I've reinstalled rebooted and tried every link and help site I could find but still don't have a clue as to how to resolve this or what is causing it. It worked before with no problem. I'm trying to access an SQL database. If I try the same thing in a WEB app everything works fine. What is going on??

Try re-installing Visuall studio with default setting.I guess u would missed some file while installing... Hope it helps...

I re-installed SQL Express and that solved the problem. It looks like the machine.config was corrupted. Thanks to all for you suggestions.

There isn't any code. Just a form with a datagrid.

At this point there is no connection string. Even if I do add one it doesnt't change anything. When I hit the line of code conn.open() I get the same error message. I can open the tables in server explorer with no problems

Please make sure your connectionstring is spelled right.
