How to keep overlapped images in correct place when resizing a picturebox inside a panel?

I have a program that includes a single main form. On the form, I have a pictureBox inside a Panel because the image is very large. How do you all recommend I accomplish something similar to the article here: (http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Code/2002/April/DrawTransparentImageUsingAB.asp Very nice article! THANKS a lot for it!) but maintain the picture inside a pictureBox inside a panel for scrolling purposes. Example Summary: For example, I have a map image inside a pictureBox inside a panel. I have an icon I want to put on the image at a specific picture pixel x,y (I have a dbase connection that pulls the x,y coordinates for the sake of knowing where to place those icon images on the map). I want to be able to overlay that image, but also make the main image scrollable. Any suggestions? MurdockSE Thanks ahead of time.

Of course I spoke a little too soon. It is working ok but any time you move the scroll bars on the panel I have the image inside the image corrupts. It does however keep the unit icon in the right spot; its just corrupted or becomes invisible.. Any idea how to redraw it upon scrolling to be positioned at that scroll xy?

Figured out a way to do it. Graphics g = pictureBox1.CreateGraphics(); as opposed to this.CreateGraphics(); I used a combo of this article: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Code/2002/April/DrawTransparentImageUsingAB.asp and this article: http://www.codeproject.com/cs/media/alphafx.asp Thanks. Here is an image of what I'm working on. http://seow.trianglesimsociety.org/TMalphashot.JPG I am trying to paint overlayed images of small military units on this ww2 map. After the user click on a position the program asks to make sure they want to add a division in that pixel coordinate. Should I do an non-visible form that pops up opens the image overlays the unit icons takes a printscreen of the form saves the image then resets the picture box image to that new image? Something along that line? May be the only way. FYI:This is a tool for use with a flight simulator to autocreate divisions of units on a map template.
