how to show previous rows in datalist in asp.net

Question

hi sir...I am displaying idmessage and date in datalist when send button is clicked...that means i am entering message in textbox then send button need to be clicked...if i send button is clicked i am storing that message into db from there i am displaying...for second time if i type message in text box then send button is clicked....so i am getting recently sending message....but i want previous message also how should i get......pls tell me source code......

after modifying the sp you are not able to see all the message in your application? What output you are getting in your application? Since you have used datalist and and you have bind to the datasource. So it should display all the message between the sender id and receiver id. you need to modify the SP also ALTER procedure [dbo].[sp_GetChatMessage] @senderid bigint @receiverid bigint as begin select SenderIDMessageDate from tbl_ChatMessages where (SenderID=@senderid and ReceiverID=@receiverid) or (SenderID=@receiverid and ReceiverID=@senderid) order by Date desc end Regards Iftikar

we will get all rows by your modified sp.............. i have chat app...suppose you and me chtting...if i type hi sir then it will display hi sir..you replied what u want...then i able to see only what u want bt hi sir is disappearing....or if asy i need solution then i am not able to see previous messages...only i am having recent one...i need to display only those three messages.........how it is possible.....

sir...i am implementing a small chat app...when chat window is opened then if u and me are chatting..i am typing message and have only one button(send) clicked...for example..if i chat like as hi sir the send button clicked then it is displaying hi sir in data list...second time if i type i am not getting then hi sir is replaced by i am not getting...what i need to chane but i need to display in datalist both 1st and 2nd messages.....what i need to change pls tell me sir
