"Ultra" High Definition 4K Displays on the Horizon

It may be too early to get excited about this, but the Consumer Electronics Association has classified the next generation of television displays to displace the disappointing push for 3D TVs. CNet gives a glance at the upcoming "Ultra High Definition" 4K displays that are likely to figure prominently at January's CES in Las Vegas. While 4K technology is currently incompatible with most consumer formats, and still prohibitively expensive, it figures to be the next big boost for TV manufacturers, under the name "Ultra High Definition," which will replace the 4K designation.
