Understanding and using Office 2010 Word Services

Word Services can convert documents into other formats, both fixed (XPS, PDF) and fluid layouts (RTF) are supported. An important feature is the ability of Word Services to recalculate fields during processing allowing details such as a Table of Contents to be built dynamically. Coupled with the power of Open XML, which is well suited for modifying the document contents, a tremendous opportunity for scaling document creation, modification and conversion on the server is available.
