By default windows installation installs some features since they are auto installed. But these features are mostly not used by users. Some of these are not important for usage so that we are not aware of the features and functionality. Some services and extra features slow down the performance of our windows operating system.
Here are some steps to increase the performance of windows operating system.
Step 1: Firstly, open the System window using keyboard shortcut Windows key + Pause break key.
After pressing both the keys a new system window opens.
If your keyboard shortcut is not working then we can directly open system window. Firstly, click on start button or press windows key and type “
System”, then press enter key. After these steps a new system window opens as in the following screenshot .
After opening the system windows click on the Advance System Property on the left side windows corner and a new pop-up window opens up called “
System Property” windows like the following:
Next click on the
“Settings...” button and new pop-up window opens up as in the following screenshot:
Click on the
“Advanced” panel and open new pop-up window called
“performance options” window and also click the
Change button:
Click the
“change button” and open a new
“Virtual Memory” pop-up window.
By-default automatically paging system is on which manage the paging file size from system drive like
“C drive”. You can manage the custom size of paging file system to increase the performance of operating system. You can firstly remove the tick sign which is on like the following:
After removing the right tick sign all the auto feature are in off form. Then click the
“Custom Size” option button and set the initial size value in MB and Maximum Size of memory in MB. The size of paging is already declared by administrator which is recommended by operating system as in the following.
After doing these steps you can press the set button and open a new permission windows having “
yes and no” button. Press the yes button.
Finally, press OK and OK button again. After pressing OK button a new windows will automatically open.
And press the
“Restart Now” button.
Step 2: Secondly, press the windows key on keyboard and type the
“msconfig”, then press
“Enter” button and open new window
“System Configuration”.
After opening this window press the menu
“Boot” panel. In boot panel we can see the following,
“Advanced Option“ button appears, press it and open the new pop-up window called
“Boot Advance option”. In this window
“Number of Processor” check box appeared and tick the right sign on check box and you can see the drop down list like 1, 2, 3 and 4. In that drop own list we are selecting maximum value of processor like 4 because the default value of this list is 1. It means in case only one processor is used at time, so that we can change the
Number of processors value.
After changing this value press OK button.
Now we are selecting the services option panel and after that it will automatically open the details of running application services. In this all services we can change two check box values
“Window update” and
“windows Search”, after that apply and press OK button.
After clicking the OK button we can see the following user window as in the following screenshot:
Press
Restart button.
Step 3: In step number 3 we can again press windows key on keyboard and type “Services”. After that press the enter button.
After pressing enter button we can see services window having all the operating system services and search the theme services and click it. It will open new pop-up window as in the following screenshot.
In this window we can change the
“Start type” using drop down list and select the
“disable”. After that press apply button and click OK button.
Finally, we can close the services windows and restart the system. Manually press
“windows keys” button on keyboard and click on
“power”. After that press the
“Restart” option as in the following screenshot,

After following these three steps properly you can see that the performance of your operating system
“Windows 10” gets faster.
