In SharePoint 2013 certain limits and some default values are set to a specific area. The administrator with the access of a Central Administrator can change the default maximum upload size. The default size of an upload is 250 MB. Here is the procedure to change the maximum size of uploads using Central Administration. Go to SharePoint 2013 Central Administration. Click on Application Management under Central Administration and click on Manage web applications. A new window will open with present SharePoint web applications. Please select the web application that you need to add a maximum upload size for. Let's select SharePoint 4444 and click on it. And go to the General Settings tab in the top ribbon area. Click on it and select "General Settings" and click on it. It will open the new pop-up window with several options. Just scroll it. There is the option to specify the maximum upload size, specify the value. The default is 250 MB and if you exceed the limit of 2 GB to upload the document then click OK. In this way you can specify the upload size. I hope this will help SharePoint beginners to change the upload size by Central Administration in SharePoint 2013.
