How To Disable Taskbar Thumbnail Preview On Windows 10

Introduction

 

In Microsoft Windows 10, at any time when you hover over an application symbol in the taskbar you get a tiny pop-up preview of the application's window. Step 1

In this step, examine the path.

 

HKEY_CURRENT_USER >> Software >> Microsoft >> Windows >> Current Version >> Explorer >> Advanced.

 

 

Step 4

 

In this step, select the System (envelope) key and right-tap on the right side and then select a new option. Choose DWORD (32bit) value, as shown below.

 

 

Step 5

 

In this step, the name of the new DWORD is ExtendedUIHoverTime and then press enter, as shown below.

 

 

Step 6

 

In this step, double tap the recently made DWORD and change its value to 20000 and then click OK button, as shown below.

 

 

Step 7

 

In this step, when you have clicked the OK button, then close the registry and restart your PC to finish the assignment.

Important Note

 

Windows 10 would not have a distinct alternative to turn off Taskbar thumbnail; however, we will use the ExtendedUIHoverTime Registry tweak to postpone the time to exhibit the previews as an alternative workaround.
