add further records to a related table

Question

I want to add a new record to a table (from fields in a FormView) and add further records to a related table using the [identity] column from the first table as a foreign key in the second table.

example

tbl_parant

id :1

Name : alex

mob: 1234

and insert parents id into tbl_child. (alex has to visit ..n days (max 20) to city for metting).

alex will go on which day, where will go and for what purpose

Which dbdo you plan to use? Create2 separate tables as per your required columns. Keep1st tables key into 2nd table as FK. Createtwo separatestored procedures toinsert records in each table. Crate 3rd stored procedure which will execute stored procedure to insert record in first table and return id. Build in functions available to get last generated identity value. Use returned id from 1st stored procedure and pass it on as a parameter to 2nd stored procedure.
