asp 4.0

Question

hi am developing a web project (asp4.0-C#) - target framework 4.0.
all i need is just to show an image (jpeg) from the disk on to my webpage.

i get the image path now how to display it on web form on a specific event

i dont to purchase third party control :)) however if their is any free image control or any other way to do it .please share

That is why there are two different pages. There should be a page for the image and where you have your grid a pointing to the page you created for displaying images with the imageid or path however you want to do it. In the example above the src would point to the page you created for displaying images. That is the solution I found in the Wrox book on beginning asp.net.

it works but i need something else ur code is just displaying the image by overriding the whole page (when i run ur code it is showing only image and rest of the page contents just got diappeared) ... ii need to show image on a datagrid event. for instance i have a datagrid with multiple rows and by selecting a row the image should be displyed above the datagrid .. i m able to get the image path and also have the event where to show it all i need is just to show the image on top of the page with out refreshing or overlaping the whole page thanks in advance

I haven't read of any additions to 4.0 to how you process images so the best way I have for you is how I do it for 3.5. I created an empty form and added the following code System.Drawing.Bitmap img = new System.Drawing.Bitmap(Image Path); img.Save(Response.OutputStream System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg); img.Dispose(); In the form were you want to display your image or several images I pass a couple of parameter to specify how big I want the image to display or imageID to be loaded. http://articles.sitepoint.com/article/generating-asp-net-images-fly
