Asp.net: perform action on refresh even if i didn't open the page in browser

Question

Hi I have a web page named Default.aspx hosted it on server in that i have meta tag so that it can check the condition i n every seconds and perform operation if condition is true. It is working when i open browser and see. As it is hosted on server i want it should perform action even if i didn't open the page in browser. Any idea please help!

Create a console application On main load code your same logic and schedule it. Do a search for articles how to schedule an exe.

Hi Suthish & John Thanks for your reply As you people suggested me to that but the thing is that i am not getting how to create scheduler task properly my query is if admin didn't the enter the record of the employee of a particular day then the next day afternoon at 12pm the email should get shooted automatically. i have done this with web page i.e on page load event the page get refresh every second on the server and when the condition meets it check the data in database if not inserted then it sends an email but when i close the page it didn't send an email when the condition arise. Please give some idea regarding the same.

Hi John Thanks for reply. As you said that i need to create a separate executable that can be run independently of the page can you please explain how to do that. Any idea please help!

If you need a perform an action whether or not the page is viewed in a browser then that action should not be coded in the page. You should create a separate executable that can be run independently of the page.
