Beginner question. Memory usage.

Question

Hi I'm new to programming and i nodest that a wpf app uses more memory than winforms. (found it here: task manager/processes) What does that mean? Is this something bad if i want to create a program that constantly runs in the background? Should i worry about this? Does it slow my pc down? Thank you in advance.

It is difficlt to know with limited iinformation. You need to do much more analysis and learn about memory use by Windows before you can provide enough information to help us help you. Just note that Windows and the .Net garbage collector are designed to stay out of the way as much as possible. It is very likely that they are just allowing memory to get used up since it does not cause a problem. Is there a particular problem that you are trying to solve other than use of more memory than you expect?

Hi friend well you have don't have to worry cause what look'n feel the WPF application provided will take more memory to load its supportive libraries i.e. Presentation framework and Presentation core. you can find these reference in your project->reference in your wpf application. These are not available in Windows forms application. Also WPF uses the DirectX to render the graphics so some part of your video memory is also used when running an WPF application. so you don't have to worry jst make sure you have enough hardware to support.
