calender data conversion

Question

hi I have a form in which it contains a textbox and next to textbox is a button. When I click a button then it should show me the calander and after I select a particular date then that date should be shown in the textbox in mm/dd/yyyy format. plz help

Sachi  I think you assign date to text box in monthCalender_DateChanged event. You just assign it in button click event. i.e after selection of dateuser have to click a button named as Set Date to assign date to text box and get away from calender date selection. If you feel uncomfortable while using MonthCalender control to select date.Simply use 3 combobox for select daymonthyear.after selection.set it into textbox.

vimal when I select a year in combobox it displays the current month of that year and allows me to select a date but it is not allowing me to navigate between months.for example if I select a year say 2007 it displays the calander with the month april 2007 but if i want to select a month say august then i will have to click > 3 times its okbut as soon as the calander is displayed if I select a particular date say 22nd april and i press > then it sets and displays 22nd may.But I want to navigate to the month I want and want to select the desired date and later that selected date format(mm/dd/yyyy) is displayed in a textbox

Sachi For year Selection Simply add a combo box.add years in that... then in combo box index changed event add the following private void comboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender EventArgs e) { String x = monthCalendar1.SelectionEnd.Day.ToString() +/+ monthCalendar1.SelectionEnd.Month.ToString() + / + comboBox1.SelectedItem.ToString(); DateTime dt1 = DateTime.Parse(x); monthCalendar1.SetDate(dt1); } when you select a year in combobox it will move calender into selected year...then you select your date for DataGridView dataGridView1.Columns[0].Width = 200; can be used in form_load or any events to set width of datagridview.here column[0] refers 1st column and 200 is pixel value try this

vimal this calander is not allowing me to navigate over months/years. I mean when the current month is displayed I will select a date and is displayed. but if i want may 15 2005 then to select it is becoming tedious. I have to press more than 50 times. So what I want is when I click the button it displays the current month then i will press to select the required year after that i will select a particular date then that date is displayed on the textbox. Vimal In a form containing datagridview I will populate the datagridview with columns from the mysql db.The datagridview will display all columns of the db but i want to display only 3 columns(I can do this in query itself) in which the first column is bigger than the second and third(I mean to customize the columns) How to do this?? because as soon as I run this form the datagridview will show all columns with equal width between each column Plz help

Sachi Initially hide MonthCalender and when user clicks button..show that calender and allow him to select a date[on that time disable other controls]...after selection hide it...and put the date into textbox.. like private void monthCalendar1_DateChanged(object sender DateRangeEventArgs e) { textBox1.Text = monthCalendar1.SelectionEnd.ToShortDateString(); } or if you don't want to use this hide/visible... Use a new form to pick date.add monthCalender in that form.after selection close form and get back user to current form with selected date in textbox.

thanks vimal vimal I know how to use DateTimepicker.The DateTimePicker displays only the current date/time but what I want is I have a textbox and a button upon clicking the button it should show me the monthcalender and in that I will click a particular date then it should display the date(in the format mm/dd/yyyy) in the textbox

Sachi Use DateTimePicker Control in toolbox instead of TextBox... and set its format property as Short for mm/dd/yyyy..
