Constructors in Abstract Class

Is it possible to form Constructor In abstract Class ?? If formed then why cant we create its intsance??

hi, it is possible. However it doesn't make any sense because you can't initiate it. In some cases, you need to achieve some common behavior when the derived classes are initiated, so you can use abstract's class constructor for this purpose. According to Microsoft, it should be marked as protected though. Here is some more info from MSDN: Abstract types should not have constructors

Yes we can definitely have constructors in the abstract class even though we cannot instantiate abstract classes directly. Consider the scenario wherein the child class inheriting from the base abstract class wants to inherit the base constructor or abstract class's constructor needs to initialize some member variables.
