conversion of bytearray to string

hi i wish to know conversion of byte array to string.first i convert a string file to byte array and the insert into a sql tableafter i retrieving the binary data from a table i can't convert the binary file to a string filehow can i do this.please any one help me.

Am not sure what data getting stored.. we can do conversion like this.. Byte[] bytes = (Byte[])dt.Rows[0][ColumnName]; string x = Convert.ToBase64String(bytes); or con.Open (); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand (select file from Table1 con); byte[] buffer = (byte[]) cmd.ExecuteScalar (); con.Close(); using(FileStream fs = new FileStream(@C:\1.txt FileMode.Create)) { fs.Write(buffer 0 buffer.Length); }

nojust i want to convert the binaryfile into a file in a readable formatafter i retrieve a binary data from a table .By using Response.write method i display the data in a window it shows System.Byte[].How could i convert the System.byte[] to string.
