Dot Net Core usage

Question

I see many new announcements and development towards Dot Net Core by MS.

If someone is working only on MS Windows platform and may not develop for multi-platform like Linux anytime, then is it required to learn Dot Net Core?

 

MS-Only devs can ignore dot net core?
