Dynamically Resize Image for Web at runtime

Question

I am trying to find a means of dynamically resizing images on a web page when rendered to a client pc for large photographs in excess of 1MB per picture. When my web page loads, the images make the page load very slowly and I have not been able to find a good means of resizing the images so they can display to the user faster.

I have my image being resized I'm unable to pass it into an image object from system.web.ui.image - I have a byte array of the image and also can pass into a memorystream - how do I re-render the image into the asp.net image object on my web page.
