Fill Dropdown List....

Question

Hi Frnds i have a dropdown control.while displaying it i have to show the Item name...but while saving in the Database i have to save Item Code which is integer not the Item Name. how can it be done. Regards aamir

Just to clarify..You are getting 3 items in dataset. But only one item is displayed in dropdown right?

Code is proper. Put breakpoint and check what you are getting in the sql query command output. Check your dataset

In gridview selection event use the above code which i shared already. it is both to save as well as retrieve

dear santosh i got the above query solved while saving in DB i get the code...but now i want on select of the Gridview row to show the ItemName not the code in the DropDownList control.
