Form_Load - complete?

Question

Is there an event that is fired when Form_Load is completed? Or is there a place to put code you want executed ONCE after the form_load has finished? (I tried within the Paint event handler but it's not suitable since it fires so many times in a windows application I need another way.) Thanks in advance!

Use the Event statement to create a function signature. At the end of the Form's Load function use the RaiseEvent statement to raise that event. Then any other module can register a event handler for that event.

Can't you just call a function at the end of the constructor? Seems the most reasonable to me :) Or do you need to have the Form visible?

Did you try 'private void Form1_Load(object sender System.EventArgs e)' function. You can write code inside that function and that will be executed whenever the form loads. The function will be called by the following piece of code. 'this.Load += new System.EventHandler(this.Form1_Load);' Check your source code these must be there already.

Next solution - silly not smart but works: timer. Wait half an second after load and execute Your code. These solution is used by MS: see in debugger at private variables - many of them have delayed in their names.

I did a workaround which involved getting the user to click a button on the launched form which then processed the CheckedListBox ticks and it now displays correctly. However there must be an event which automates this after form load so a user doesnt have to perform an action to trigger the code and without me having to put booleans everywhere surely??? I was considering the Activate event as a possibility...still need to try it.

What about Load event? Next - create a bool semaphore initialize it with true and reset to false after Paint or Activate event. If semaphore is true execute Your code - in these events.
