How i get Promoted to be MVP member

Question

I need to know how can i get the promotion to be a MVP member for Microsoft. Is this related to Number of points earned? Suppose i started this year how many points should i earn? Is it related with the articles quality no of views or just posting an article that illustrate specific topic would be counted. Thanks Hussein Salman

First of all Microsoft MVP is not a Promotion it is a Recognition for your technical excellence and sharing your expertise with your technical community. Is this related to Number of points earned? Suppose i started this year how many points should i earn? You should CONTRIBUTE! No Shortcut! Also there is no measurement. In my experience Don't expect the MVP award. Just do your community contribution consistently. Contribution included become a member of a forum blog about that particular technology etc. If you contribute well your work is recognized by the MVP award. For MVP award you can nominate yourself or you can nominated by others. Support your peers.Provide accurate useful support in whatever format fits you best. You'll find most of the MVP's that show up here are authors presenters at conferences lead user groups and many run their own dedictaed support sites or blog.Bottom line is be active in the community. There's no magic number or something you can do to be awarded an MVP status. In essence if you're working to be an MVP you probably won't ever get there. If you're doing the things characteristic of being an MVP you probably aren't concerned about being awarded. If the award changes your life in any way you probably didn't deserve it to begin with.
