Hey try this.  First I declared a utility class public   class  RawJsonActionResult : IHttpActionResult   {        private   readonly   string  _jsonString;           public  RawJsonActionResult( string  jsonString)       {           _jsonString = jsonString;       }           public  Task  ExecuteAsync(CancellationToken cancellationToken)       {           var content =  new  StringContent(_jsonString);           content.Headers.ContentType =  new  MediaTypeHeaderValue( "application/json" );           var response =  new  HttpResponseMessage(HttpStatusCode.OK) { Content = content };            return  Task.FromResult(response);       }   }
Then use this class in your controller. Here is a simple example public  IHttpActionResult GetData()   {       var jsonString =  "{\"id\":1,\"name\":\"a small object\" }" ;        return   new  RawJsonActionResult(jsonString);   }

Hi,   This is the solution -    using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text.RegularExpressions; using Newtonsoft.Json; // User the name space namespace Rextester { public class Program { public static void Main(string[] args) { var ids = "100,200,300".Split(','); var personsString = JsonConvert.SerializeObject(new { person = ids.Select(x => new { id = x }).ToList() }); Console.WriteLine(personsString); } } }     Output -   {"person":[{"id":"100"},{"id":"200"},{"id":"300"}]}

Hey if you have data in datatable then convert the datatable data to json string by below coding.
public   static   object  DataTableToJSON(DataTable table)   {       var list =  new  List string ,  object >>();        foreach  (DataRow row  in  table.Rows)       {           var dict =  new  Dictionary string ,  object >();            foreach  (DataColumn col  in  table.Columns)           {               dict[col.ColumnName] = (Convert.ToString(row[col]));           }           list.Add(dict);       }       JavaScriptSerializer serializer =  new  JavaScriptSerializer       {           MaxJsonLength = Int32.MaxValue       };        return  serializer.Serialize(list);   }
