how to craete c# barcode library?

Dear all any one can explain how to create a ddl for barcode scanning and barcode genarating .when am googling am finding the answers we need to use 3rd party dlls for genaration and scanning or reading a barcode.am thinking any dlls are avillable in .net freamework for created and read the barcode using c# .not from 3rd party.give me some examples or some code snippets please
