How to make barcode scanning in C#?

Question

Hey guys recently i’ve been trying to get more information about barcode reading and I found some softwares that might work for me. I am not an expert (yet :) ) on this field so every bits of help would be great. I found two SDKs while searching both named as Barcode Scanner SDK one from Dynamsoft (I found this here on CodeProject) and one from Bytescout. And there is another one that looks the most promising for me Ozeki Camera SDK (also found on CodeProject). Do you guys happen to have any experience with Ozeki or the BarcodeScanners? Thanks for helping me here.

Hi calo. I have never tried Zxing barcode scanner to scan barcode in C# . But I wonder whether it offers free trials for users to check? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Best regards Arron

I'm not familiar with these two you mentioned. But for bar code scanning with C# : I know Zxing bar code scanner is a good library.

If you are able to obtain images from a web camera then you need to use a professional sdk to read the barcode from that image so you can get good results. For me I am using leadtools and I am getting perfect results. Important note: regardless the sdk you are using make sure that images are clear and high-quality to help the sdk reading the barcode.

Hey Michal. The case is that I have a camera and I want to use it for scanning these codes. That is why I need a program like the ones I mentioned. So now I am digging deeper with the Ozeki SDK first and it seems pretty good so far. It has some example projects and detailed documentations and all. We'll see:) Thanks for your answer though!

Hi do you really need any 3rd party SDKs for this purpose? As long as you have the barcode reader connected to your computer it simulates the keyboard input. You can easily try it by leaving focus on some textbox in a form or simply a word/notepad document and reading the bardcode. The output should appear in the textbox/document.
