How to paste text in textbox using jquery/javascript?

I want to paste some text in textbox or at the position of typing cursor on click event of button. So what is the best way to do it? Thanks in advance TAN

Simple just update the value that you are having at the moment in the text-box. In jQuery there are no controls so everything is native HTML. In that case you need to have the ID of that element $('#idoftextbox').val('The new value'); This is enough! The above code would update the value of the textbox using its ID.
