How to Send pdf files from admin account to user accounts in my website?

Question

I am creating a website where in there is an admin account(1 login) & multiple user accounts(one login for each user)..

I want to send a pdf file from my admin account to the user's "View pdf" page. For each user there will be a separate pdf file.

I'm a rookie at .net programming & do not know much detail about it..

So, I would appreciate it if some one could help me on this..

The way I describe will show a popup telling you if you want to open or save the pdf once the button is clicked. The Response object is part of the Asp.net page. Response.ContentType = application/pdf; // This will set the content type to a pdf Response.AddHeader(content-disposition attachment; + filename=View.pdf); // to specify the name of the pdf Response.WriteFile(FilePathGoes here); // The full path to the file will go here You have other options like the Response.OutputStream.Write which will take an array of bytes if you have the pdf in the database. In my case each user belongs to a group and using the group number I check the folder for a specific filename and create a list of a struct with a filename filepath. On the page I create a repeater and render two columns one with a linkbutton with text=View and the second column with the filename. On the repeater command I just do the code above and the command argument I set with the filepath; I use the argument from the command as the param fro WriteFile.

Thank u for your reply can you please xplain a little bit more on the code.. Actually multiple pdfs may be sent to 1 user & each of them will have different names. I will send those files one at a time by using dropdown box for selecting users & file uploader for selecting the pdf from my machine. Are you saying that if I have all those multiple file names same my job would be easy?..

Venkata correct me if I am wrong it sounds like your users will have page for viewing user specific pdfs. If that is the case all you need is to have all your pdfs organized and a way to map them to each user. On your View Pdf page maybe add a linkbutton with the name of the pdf and on the click event response.ContentType = application/pdf; response.AddHeader(content-disposition attachment; + filename=GridViewExport.pdf); response.WriteFile(FilePathGoes here); remember to use Server.MapPath if you need
