Javascript, for the purposes of this question, is a client-side (in the browser) scripting language.
jQuery is a library/framework built with Javascript. It is very popular because it (nearly universally) abstracts away cross-browser compatibility issues and it emphasises unobtrusive and callback-driven Javascript programming.
AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript XML) is a method to dynamically update parts of the UI without having to reload the page - to make the experience more similar to a desktop application.
HTML
HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is a widely accepted web-design language.
HTML is responsible for the construction, and the total output, of a page.
There are three "sections" of a decent HTML document source: Inline, Internal, and External.
CSS
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is another widely-accepted web-design language.
Unlike HTML, CSS does not "create" anything. Instead, it decorates, aligns, and positions (etc) elements in HTML. In a nutshell, CSS takes the normal HTML output and adds a few rules to how it's actually displayed.
Internet Information Services (IIS) – formerly called Internet Information Server – is a web server application and set of feature extension modules created by Microsoft for use with Microsoft Windows. IIS 7.5 supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SMTP and NNTP. It is an integral part of Windows Server family of products, as well as certain editions of Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. IIS is not turned on by default when Windows is installed.
