Question

Hey guys I just wandering to find a solution please help me if someone knows the answer. I am creating a windows application and want it to non functional after one month. So how can i achieve this ? Following are my findings and i need a good solution. 1. Cant use system datetime(any one can change system datetime) . 2. Cant use static time because user can close and start application.

Hey Pankaj In my personal opinion you can do: 1. create a windows service that runs on the background that monitors your 1 month trial. 2. Create a encrypted file (like sqlite file) and store it on a local system when your application starts it will store the current date the column should be unique that means even when the user changes the date it will not on a matter tgen count all the dates if count is 30 then trial is over.

Hi Pankaj There are tons of ways but it also depends on kind of application you are developing. Does your application connects to internet or will it access any API's?? if yes you can validate your subscription in your server based on the request coming from particular client. And if it is simple stand alone windows application without any connection to outside world then you can store the value (token) in database and validate it. Make sure to do encryption of this data else user will access the database and change it to extend the expiry. And if you do not have database !! Then you have to store value in a registry and there are many ways to find if user backdated the system date. If current date is less than the last opened date then that means user manually changed the system date!! So you can send him smiley :)
