Mulit location warehouse Application Development

Hi Experts
I need your view on selecting the technology/platform for a business product (item Inventory & billing for Distributor )
A Distributor may have many warehouses and their stock is maintained at main location.
Daily basis stock can be updated by getting the individual warehouse stock list in the system.

There may be other distributor using the same package but never connected to others.

Most system development methodologies would advise you to choose technology/platform based on requirements. Sometimes requirements include a limitation of the technology/platform but other than that it is best to determine the system's requirements first. For example someone might say that WPF and WCF is a good choice but then after you get it half done someone might say it would be better as a web site. Or you might choose XML but then when you realize you need many of the features that are built into SQL Server you might realize that a lot of what you did using XML was wasted.
