need info about winners

Question

hello i want to know the winners of forums and winners who post new articles blogs etc are diffrent?? how they decide about winner of months? based of their contribution in current month for articles and etc or based on their ans marked for post in forum here march month winners are differend: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/News/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsID=587 and when i click on and select 2010 march their it shows different winnsers: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Forums/Members/Winners.aspx please give some info.

It has been a couple of months since they gave prizes for forum answers. As Praveen indicated there were some people cheating. There were many problems with giving prizes for forum answers. Personally I think people should try to find answers themselves but since this web site was giving prizes for answers we were likely to help people with answers they could easily find themselves. That means that many answers were very simple and not the most valuable for use by others. This web site is of course mostly interested in content that is the most useful by many people and that will therefore attract the most people. Another problem is that many times answers might help the person asking the question but the web site moderators did not consider the answers to be worth giving prizes for. Answers that were just a link to someplace else is the most likely example of answers that are considred not worth prizes. I understand that this web site wants to accumulate content that belongs to them but the problem with not allowing external links is that it encourages people to copy code from someplace else and paste in a reply. So it is simply not easy to decide what is fair. Making the descision about what is fair requires that the moderators spend a lot of time checking the replies in the forums so it becomes too much work for them.

Thank you For answering.. i have spend lot of time in this website because of my queries.. but would you tell me from when you have stopped making winners from the answer of forums? Becoz the thing whch i have noted that so many users of the site were giving replies to the forums and solve the queries of users. but now i have noted those users never or may reply very less to the forums and only focused on the articlesblogs may be becoz from those they can earn more points. forums are also one imp part bt I have noticed that because by answering we get 1 point and maximum 5 points if asnwer is marked now most users are focusing more on articles n blogs

We don't have any winners prize for the forums. Earlier we were giving away prize money for accepted answers posted in the forums. It was stopped because of misuse by some users. Some users were just earning points by using more than one userid's. Now we are giving away prizes for contributions in the site. Contibutions can be articles blogs resources etc for that particular month.

I am interested in knowing. As far as I know there are no prizes for answers in the forums. There were prizes for answers in the forums but I am not sure if there are now. I know that there has been a satement that there will no longer be cash prizes for answers in the forums. In the past we were supposed to claim prizes but they sent me notification by email that I need to do that. As for prizes for writing articles I am especially interested in knowing what is happening. Try doing this: go to the home page and near the bottom of the menu on the left side is Prizes ; note that it says  Winner is not available . If I select March explicitly it still says  Winner is not available . So I am not sure if they have become undecided of the winners for March. I don't know what the rules are for winning prizes for writing articles. Apparently it is not determined by quantity; I think it is determined by quality but I am not sure. For me personally I am not sure whether it is better to write articles for this web site or to put articles in my own web site. The possibility of getting prizes makes the descison easy but there is a lot of competition now. I did spend a lot of time writing the articles that I have contributed and I have more I am working on.
