2005 .Net Express C# Download

Question

I have looked all over the Web for the Microsoft .Net 2005 Visual Studio download. I find some links but none of them produce results. I would like to somehow get the 2005 CD. Can someone mention a link(s) for this that work? Or offer to mail me a CD with .Net Express 2005 Visual Studio w/CS ($$ for shipping and handling). All I have is VB I would like CS 2005 or the whole package. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that you can officially download Visual C# 2005 Express (other than SP1) any longer though you can still get Visual C# 2008 Express (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/express/future/bb421473). If you want the older version so you can target .NET 2.0 of the framework then you can still do this with the 2010 version and (as far as I can recall) the 2008 version as well even though they normally use versions 4.0 and 3.5 respectively. You just need to change the setting in the Target framework listbox under the Application tag of your project's properties.

It is probably possible to get Microsoft to send you a DVD or CD with VS Express for just the cost of shipping. Look around for that. One place to look in is Microsoft Press; that might be where to get it and you might not think to look there.
