.net mail process

Question

hiiii.
i have creating a .net windows application mailing syatem. but when i am executing the program it will show an error message
message is

The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required. Learn more at.

how to solve it .? and my mail will properly process?

Hi If you are using GMAIL SMTP server then it is required to provide credentials. SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient(smtp.gmail.com 587); smtp.EnableSsl = true; smtp.DeliveryMethod = SmtpDeliveryMethod.Network; smtp.UseDefaultCredentials = false; smtp.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(my user my pass); Regards Iftikar

UseDefaultCredentials = false; is it necessory to put credential ?
