how i can validate the password and name field in php... Name- take only alphabets. password- show in * form plese reply me.. thanks...

only letters : /^[a-zA-Z]+$/ or /^[a-z]+$/i only numbers: /^[0-9]+$/

For validation i Suggest make use of RegularExpressions and for this support also available in client side javascript.
