Query Strings and Masked Forwarding

Question

I have got a website where i have used some query strings.  Now i have changed the way it displays the url by using masked forwarding (for e.g. www.website.com instead of www.website.com?user=Me) and now the query strings aren't working when i request them. is there a way to fix this?
