" unless there was an error in compiling the resources .rc file " I assumed that was the cause and I assumed the error was caused by a missing RC file.

rc.exe is used to compile the resources into an .res file which is compiled into the exe so depending on what invoked rc.exe the res file should be located somewhere on your hard drive unless there was an error in compiling the resources .rc file. Ignore Sam, he must have a chip on his shoulder, if you want to learn a bit more about rc.exe google it, you will find a lot of info about it.

i have already solved the problem in error rc 1110. but now this is my error. I am new to this and this is a project done by someone else and I need to finish it. I had to take it up since i had no choice. The camera gets images and finally all the images are stored in a folder with the log in a text file. This had already been done and now when the code is moved into another system, its not working properly. please help me out. thanks

You will ned to tell us more. Are you familiar with Windows unmanaged programming with C++? I assume not. Did you create the project or did you get the project from someone else? I assume you did not create the project. Are you sure you have all the files for the project? The most likely cause of the errors is that you are missing a RC file. If you don't have the RC file and don't need it then you can remove the res file form the project. Do you know how to do that or are you trying to get a large project built in spite of very little experience?
