Select query problem for dates between different ranges

hi I am getting problem while selecting records for below mentioned query. Select Min(TotalAvalablity) as TotalAvalablity from htl_FDRoomAvailability where REPLACE(CONVERT(varchar(50)ReserveDate 101) ' ' '-')>='12/31/2009' and REPLACE(CONVERT(varchar(50)ReserveDate 101) ' ' '-') Please any one help me why its showing null.If ReserveDate is between same year then its giving correct result. soumya just try this way. change the date format Select * from test where REPLACE ( CONVERT ( varchar ( 50 ) Date  102 ) ' '  '-' )>= '2009.12.25' and REPLACE ( CONVERT ( varchar ( 50 ) Date  102 ) ' '  '-' ) '2010.01.15' ***************************************** Please mark it Accepted if u find it helpful.

Check if you have records on those two dates in the table if at all there exists any...and also try to use varchar(10)
