Text Box listener

Question

When a user clicks the Enter key when in a text box I would like the click event of a button called..... Does anyone know how that is done??

Hello luvannodam I found a way. try the following code. private void t_KeyDown(object sender System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs e) { if(e.KeyValue.ToString()==13) { MessageBox.Show(e.KeyValue.ToString()); this.button1_Click(thise); } } i have add a text box named t and a button named button1 . in each key down event of textbox t it checks the character . If it is enter (which case returns 13) it calls the button1_click event. It works perfectly mate. Have a god day (y) Cheers

the button u want the event to fire from on your form go to Default Button property and select that button (this will fire no matter where enter is pressed from) if u want to make it textbox specific go with what James said

I've always seen it done by using the KeyPress event and checking for the ENTER key being the keychar. If there isn't a better way there should be but thats the only way I'm aware of.
