Why do we need user controls and custom controls.Where to use user controls and where to use custom controls.

Usercontrols : In addition to using Web Server Controls in your ASP.Net Web pages you can create your own custom controls which can be reusable using the same techniques you use for creating web pages. and these are known as user controls. A user control is a composite controls that works like an web page- you can add existing web server controls and maarkup top auser control and define properties and methods for the control. also you can embed them in web pages where they act as unit. The best example is where we need is let set you want billing details and shipping details. So here most of the controls in both places are same(address1 addres2 city state country zip). so instead of using twice these controls in two places. we create one user control say Address(address1 addres2 city state country zip). and we use this user control in both the places. And Custom control: is where you create and design your control add properties and events to and turn it as control by getting its dll created and add .dll to the custom control tab. and Now you can use it as new custom control whioch is drag and drop like other control. The main difference between user and custom control is that user control is created in web application and custom control is created in control(.dll) Hope you understood :)
