You can try the imageViewer control from Leadtools (imaging toolkit) to view different types of images. You can pass your image's URL to the imageViewer.imageUrl property. If you want to create thumbnails in ASP.NET application I think this control allows adding different items (as thumbnails) with different built-in layouts.
