Value from Gridview

Question

Hi frnds I have a Web form in which there is a Gridview. on that Gridview data Populates when the Page loads. when i select a particular row from Gridview i want to know the selected value of that row which is the primary key example :Customer Id (LGR00001) .how to get that value on selecting particular row from gridview. plz let me know thanks & regards Aamir

Hi Aamir Try this... Normal 0 How to get the values of selected row from a Grid view and display the values in textboxes using C# code. We can edit update cancel select and delete data also. Set the DataMember property of gridview. ============= on Selected index changed event you can use. string custid=GridView1.SelectedDataKey[CustomerID].ToString();

Here is an idea if you want to do in jQuery. Set SelectedRowStyle=myselection . Now place a label in GridView in any existing TemplateField. (Dont create any new asp:TemplateField because it will add a new column) ' style=display:none;/> Now retrieve the selected row index like this. var selectedIndex = -1; if($(.myselection).length){ selectedIndex = $(.myselection .myindex).html() - 0; } Update: Multiple GridViews?
