I am not sure whether my answer would be the one you are looking for. Basically Cookie Testing is related to saving information in Browser Cookies and trying to extract the stored information. In real scenarios the cookie will be having encrypted data in it. The tests would involve decrypting the cookies and testing. Also for the browsers which disables cookie there will be separate level of testing. In this case the url will be having the cookie values encrypted. So the web application has to undergo all these tests to work on cookie enabled/disabled environments. The session testing involves time expiration of the session values creating multiple sessions with different user inputs etc. Here different user instances are created to test the sessions under load.
