why two projects in first chapter?

In Joshi's Programming ASP.NET MVC 5 he has the reader create two projects in the first chapter. As far as I saw he never mentions the first project again. Why create a whole separate project just to create a controller then abandon it?

Read the second paragraph's lines ( skipping first two lines ) in my post. As already said there is no need to create two projects. You can create everything in a single project create a new controller and perform other actions all in a single project. Can you show me the link where that article or post is hosted at?

That is on-topic only in the context of his guide outside that guide or the URL where that guide is the question is pretty much unclear and no one else other than Joshi himself knows why he did that. So I would like to request you to ask the question under his guide. He would answer the problem or your concern in a better way. Otherwise if the concept was to create a controller then he might wanted to explain how to create a controller. If you already understood that you can create the controller right in the project you want to use. :-)
