Hi Frnds i am stuck this qus in interviews.. interviewr akesd me why we use view in sql..what is the use of view and where we use in sql please give the real example also for the intervw

We use view to restrict the access of the data to the table. Suppose there is a software company and client of this company would like to know the information about the employee of this company.But management of this company would not like to share Salary details of the employee to the client In this case we will create one view excluding Salary details of employee and now company cab be share the employee details to the client without salary details.

Anjali by using VIEW in SQL Server we can get below benefits: (1.) Views can hide complexity If you have a query that requires joining several tables or has complex logic or calculations you can code all that logic into a view then select from the view just like you would a table. (2.) Views can be used as a security mechanism A view can select certain columns and/or rows from a table and permissions set on the view instead of the underlying tables. This allows surfacing only the data that a user needs to see. For example allow employees who are working in the company they can see the name work phone department and designation in the employee table. But we don’t allow them to see the personal information like SSN Salary and Date of Birth D.O.B. in the same employee table. (3.) Views can simplify supporting legacy code If you need to refactor a table that would break a lot of code you can replace the table with a view of the same name. The view provides the exact same schema as the original table while the actual schema has changed. This keeps the legacy code that references the table from breaking allowing you to change the legacy code at your leisure.
