Wikipedia Results - What do you think?

Question

Let me starting saying that Wikipedia is a great resource for learning new things and research.

But as a developer, I found Wikipedia results useless. I never find what I am looking for. So when I Google anything, I see first link Wikipedia, I skip it by default.

I was wondering if it is just me or most of the developers think this way?

Personally I do like Wikipedia for a technical overview of a subject. Sometimes you find material on there which would otherwise be inaccessible to folks who are not academics. Sure it can be hard to understand but that's usually because it really is hard to undertstand as opposed to just being badly explained.

Yes Mahesh I too agree to that - when programming topics are concerned - I think wikipedia is coming up with complicated explanations. It is difficult to understand. But I do not skip I read wikipedia and collect some idea and use the idea to find another tutorial.
